Luck Spells

Luck Spells

Here is a spell that utilizes one of the longest standing symbols of magic: food. Food use in spells and rituals dates back to ancient Greece and the worship of the many Greek goddesses. During these rituals, honey cakes were used to write the wishes of the practitioner on. The ritual was performed and then the cakes were eaten by the person who made the wish in an effort to transfer the wish to them. In this spell you will use the seeds or nuts of choice in place of honey cakes.

Note: This spell is best performed during the waxing moon. You can also use candles of different colors based on the type of luck you want. Red and green represent luck and prosperity respectively.

Materials:

4 red candles
4 green candles
A glass of wine
8 seeds or nuts
A round pebble
Wooden matches

The Steps:

Step 1:

Gather all of your items at your altar or place of magic. Cast your circle using the eight candles. Alternate the two colors and align them with the eight compass points: north, northeast, east, southeast, south, southwest, west and northwest. As you cast your circle, hold the small pebble in your left hand. If your projective hand is your left hand, hold the pebble in your right. The pebble represents the universal Circle of Life and brings good luck to the spell.

Step 2:

Place the glass of wine in the center of the circle with the seeds or nuts next to it. While concentrating on your goal, light the candle at the north compass point then return to the center of the circle.

Step 3:

Dip one of the seeds or nuts in the glass of wine, speak your wish and then eat the food. It is helpful for beginners to break their wish or goal down into eight steps.

Step 4:

Continue lighting the candles in a clockwise direction, returning to the center of the circle to dip a seed or nut in the wine, making a wish and then eating it.

Step 5:

When all eight candles are lit, sit and meditate with the pebble in your hand on your wish. When you are ready, toast the Goddess and finish the glass of wine. Close the circle by extinguishing the candles in a counterclockwise direction. Clean up and keep the pebble as a good luck charm.
